The Borrow Process

Hood Tools provides homeowners with an avenue to explore borrowing the right tool from your neighbor rather than purchasing the tool or attempting to use the wrong tool to get the job done. We aim to bring the tool owner who may rarely use his chain saw, circular saw or hedge trimmer together with their neighbor who has the occasional need for one of these tools. This act of friendship will come back to you in spades, especially when you need to borrow a spade from that same neighbor! The Hood Tools Borrow Program

The first thing you need to do is register to be a user. If you're the first from your neighborhood, then you'll need to register your "Hood" to get started.

Step 1. Click on "Log In" on the right side of page

Step 2. After logging in, click on My Neighborhood on upper left side of page.

Step 3. On the upper right your will see the Borrow a Tool link, click it.

Step 4. Click on one of the four categories listed depending on the type of tool you would like to borrow.

Step 5. If someone in your "hood" has a tool in this category, it will be listed here.

Step 6. After you find the tool you would like to borrow, click on borrow tool on the right side of page.

Step 7- Almost done----Click Request to Borrow button and then select a message to send your neighbor from the drop down tool bar.

Step 8. Final Step---Click the "Yes I Agree" button to the HoodTools Terms of Service and a message will be sent to your neighbor.
